It began with the Hu Yaobang memorial event, former general secretary of the Communist Party, in Tiananmen Square on April 15, 1989. Because some views of Hu's political reforms were similar to capitalist (but still communist) liberalism, many leaders rejected Hu's political reforms and called them views of “ bourgeois liberalization". Coincidentally, Hu died soon after the Chinese government ended Hu's (Oikawa) reforms. After Hu's death, many students from Peking University and Tsinghua University joined the rally. In addition to holding public speeches to commemorate Hu, student speakers focused on discussing the problems of domestic political development and the benefits of Hu's political reforms (Searle). To carry out these reforms, many students in Beijing subsequently protested as they attempted to rush into the State Council, stop traffic, and continue the fast begun earlier in Tiananmen (Butcher) Square. Although the government attempted to provide face-to-face communications with student leaders, the protest nevertheless became a “counterrevolutionary riot.” Some students raised anti-communist scrolls and hindered the preparation of Gorbachev's welcoming ceremony (Li, 29). In other major cities such as Shanghai and Chengdu, students who had declared they would join the protest in Beijing instead engaged in beatings, destruction and looting in commercial areas (Long). After warning students several times, the government eventually announced curfew restrictions and sent in armed forces to dismiss the protesters... middle of paper... more accessible. The American government does not prevent citizens from discussing it. The book “The United States of Paranoia: A Conspiracy Theory” which includes the conspiracy of John Sassamon and King Philip even becomes a textbook (Walker, 24). There are many articles about the conspiracy of John Sassamon and King Philip shown on the website. In conclusion, the Tiananmen Square event conspiracy is an Enemy Outside conspiracy that has many similarities with the conspiracy of John Sassamon and King Philip. Both have no clear origins, have foreigners in their homeland, are agents of a foreign power and have achieved significant goals. While there is not yet enough evidence to prove a conspiracy theory as truth, it is still possible for an Enemy Outside conspiracy theory to be true based on the rational implications of the conspirators..
