Alcoholics Anonymous is a voluntary self-help society founded by Bill W and Dr. Bob Smith whose members represented different sectors of society and who have a common problem of drug addiction 'alcohol. It can also be considered a social movement that worked on a threat that society was baffled by and that used unconventional methods to cure this plague. Alcohol addiction can be called a "plague" as medical professionals considered it an illness that was apparently treated in hospitals along with psychiatric help and isolation. However it can also be considered a threat to society as the drug addict has caused intangible despair not only to himself but also to his fellow family members and members of society. Society's view of alcoholism was that it was caused by a combination of moral deterioration and an incurable medical condition. So drug addicts who were deprived of resources found help in charitable organizations and others who sought help from the medical community and psychiatrists were treated using medicines or were confined to mental asylums. Thus Alcoholics Anonymous who wanted to address the problem of addiction treat alcoholism as a disease that requires much more than simple medications such as the intervention of a higher power and self-control. This is because, despite medical and psychiatric intervention, addicts who got sober did not stay sober long after treatment. Alcoholics Anonymous was founded by Bill Wilson, a World War II Army veteran and later became a successful stockbroker and earned his way into business. large sums of money. Soon, disconcerted by his success, he became addicted to alcohol which tormented his financial situation and put his wife's life in an extreme… middle of the paper… superficial level. It tends to redesign the minds of drug addicts who have been brainwashed by alcohol. This helps to restore sanity in people's minds and control their drinking habits, thus providing a society of good role models by combining these simple 12 steps. These steps mostly have a solution through spirituality and religion as material solutions like medicines and abstinence from alcohol have not provided much success. Therefore we can conclude that alcohol addiction was a disease that affected the physical and mental well-being of an addict which was medical in nature but in terms of a solution medical science has very little to offer and AA offered a religious solution to a problem doctor.BibliographyW , Account.
