MigrationThinking back to my childhood, I remember that my family moved from place to place quite frequently. Since my birth, my family has moved a total of seven times and that was just in the first six years of my life. As an ignorant child, the constant movement didn't require me to think about why we moved so much. I never thought that my family would be in a difficult situation. When I ask my father now why we moved so often back then, he tells me that he was looking for a better standard of living. He said we were never forced to move due to a financial situation, but instead wanted to find more rewarding employment to live more elegantly. He wanted to find a place with a good education system for his children and also wanted to live in a warm climate not too far from the beach. Thanks to these three pull factors we moved many times during my childhood and the end result of our migration played a positive role in my life. When I was born, my parents and I lived in the overpopulated city of Chicago. My father wanted to move to a place that wasn't too populated. So, with that in mind, we headed south towards Kansas. He got what he wanted in terms of a smaller population. But he was still dissatisfied with the cold. The disappointing work experience and cold climate were a push factor to move forward and find a better place to live. After Kansas we moved to Ohio because some relatives had convinced us that we knew they lived there, but he was not successful with business there either. In search of better employment, my father looked through the newspaper's classified ads every afternoon looking for interesting businesses. After finding a few that interested him, he would call them and make arrangements to make an appointment. look at the businesses. In particular, my father saw an advertisement for a “Days Inn” in Atlanta, Georgia. One pull factor that encouraged my father to move to Georgia was the wonderful warm climate. He was attracted by the fact that the beach was not very far away. The business turned out to be a success and we eventually settled in this state.
