A current state assessment is the most efficient strategy for measuring key performance metrics. As the current state develops, specific tools are needed. These tools are the SIPOC diagram and the organizational alignment matrix. The SIPOC is used to map the operational aspects of the business. Documenting the business landscape is the main focus of the organizational alignment matrix. The initial parameters that govern the business transformation are established through the organizational strategy. There are four main components that establish a business transformation. The mission statement, vision statement, guiding principles and core values. During the transformational change process the impact this change has on the business should be analysed. Organizational change management (OCM) must be used during transformation. The main goal of OCM is to keep employees informed and engaged during this process. OCM resolves problematic situations that prevent change from occurring. Stakeholder analyses, communication plans and training plans are the three common components used by OCM. The next phase of the transformation process is designing the future state. An implementation plan should also be developed.
