“Issac, wake up, you slept” “I made you breakfast and lunch, breakfast is a white cake and for lunch you will have a red velvet cake.” Issac spat out the breakfast and gave the lunch to the neighbor's dog while taking two apples from the neighbor's window, the real breakfast and lunch. Because his theft had been a habit developed at an early age, and would not be discovered until he had moved far away from the community and stopped. While going to school he thought about how wonderful it would be to be a chef and have his own restaurant, but he couldn't do it with his father being a baker, with the pressure of the family business and the fact that his father always hated chefs. Because his mother understood him, but stayed with his father, except to steal a recipe from a restaurant. In fact, his mother was a seamstress from a poor family and would have liked to be a nurse, but she married Isaac's father who had been her neighbor for years. When Issac arrives at school, he rubs his second apple and puts it in his jacket, he thinks for lunch. This routine of stealing and the neighbor's dog eating cake for breakfast continued, each day stealing from somewhere else, another treasure. She had just turned 14 a couple of days ago and had received a piping bag full of icing for her birthday. The day continued in the same way, only now he was forced to practice icing with his new piping bag, even though he had never paid attention to it. He puts the bag down to take a break and his father yells at him but he doesn't seem to care, his father says "if you don't respect and use the gifts you get on your birthday you won't go to get any of them".
