"Censorship cannot eliminate evil. It can only kill freedom. We believe that Americans have the right to buy, stores have the right to sell, authors have the right to write and publishers have the right to publish constitutionally protected material. Harry Hoffman, president of Walden Book Co., Inc., is accurate in this respect , they are not eliminated from society; however, their message emanates to create an impact. If the public hides the contents of these books, the victims that these censors seize from these works are rarely exposed to what is being censored by them or by attempting to ban a book, you draw more attention to that distinct book, so society is more likely to read it. So, in reality, censors have no tangible reason to ban books, especially since they violate so many legal standards. and ethical; Banning books violates the First Amendment, takes away the meaning of books, and denies the morals that could be taught in schools. Context of Book Banning and Censorship Typically, books are expurgated due to some sort of violence, vulgarity, sex, sex education, homosexuality, witchcraft and the occult, “secular humanism,” depictions of rebellious kids, and the terms “ politically incorrect” regarding racist or sexist language. The Supreme Court has ruled against censorship several times, as in the following cases: Board of the Island Trees School District v.
