Just ignore for a moment the fact that the policy has been ruled unconstitutional and think about whether a policy of that nature would actually help eliminate obesity. In all honesty, a policy of portion control on drinks is not helpful in the fight against obesity. Obesity is more closely linked to the type of lifestyle you have and the type of food you eat, so controlling your fluid intake doesn't touch on any of the fundamental issues surrounding obesity. Good policy that would help eliminate obesity should focus on promoting healthy eating, exercise, and education about the cycle of obesity (how bad behaviors prevent people from losing weight) and how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. It is safe to say that this policy has failed to do so
