Topic > Supernatural or simply science? New paradigms in...

During modern times Christianity has been strongly criticized by science and all new discoveries. Many scientists believe that, through recent discoveries and philosophies, they are able to contradict one of the world's strongest and most spiritually important religions. But the science is supported by little evidence. Science bases its conclusions on two things: observation and replication. There are things in this world that clearly cannot be seen, for example the Lord, and also things that cannot be reproduced such as the virgin birth of Christ or his resurrection. These miracles are impossible and could only be accomplished by the hands of a superior being. This is why science really has no say when it comes to miracles. Even secular scientists, even Christian scientists use the “scientific method” to get answers to their problems. However, the scientific method is applied to resolve findings from a natural world, not those from a supernatural world. According to Professor Alister McGrath, “Science is neutral. It does not presuppose or imply atheism.” This therefore means that science as a whole does not answer the big questions of life or religion. We know that the performed miracles really happened because: many people witnessed them, they were carefully written down by noble men, and the “hostile” witnesses provide no true answers in the argument against Jesus' miracles. As we know, the Lord provided the his people many miracles throughout the Old Testament. These miracles date back to Moses, where God granted his people the ability to perform miracles and also interact with them. By interaction, this means that things like the parting of the Red Sea, or the tunnel of fire that allowed the Israelites to travel safely across the ni... middle of paper... will continue to grow. And the miracles performed by Jesus can never actually be reproduced because if they were to try them again it would be physically impossible to ultimately show the true power of Christ.
