LITERATURE REVIEW Peter et al., (2012) study the extent of Internet use by undergraduate students in Nigerian University and in how their academic performance is affected. The designed research questions are used to help create a good questionnaire to be used for data collection. The first research question is to understand how college students use the Internet, focusing on whether students use the Internet; the daily time students preferred to browse; the frequency of Internet browsing by students in a week; purpose of using the Internet; and whether students visit a cyber café or computer center. In the second research question, the study is to determine the academic performance of students who use the Internet. The question is whether or not students know about computers; the perception that students have of the use of the Internet as a tool to improve their academic performance; and how Internet services help students in their academic journey. The third research question is used to investigate the relationship between Internet use and students' academic performance. Students are asked to provide information on questions from a popular website they visit often; students obtain relevant information about the course while browsing the Internet and with its attendance; and also better facilities for students in terms of improving academic work. This research found that there is a positive correlation between Internet use and academic performance. This study showed the impact of Internet use on academic achievement and social life of university students in Pakistan. The frequency of Internet use will affect students' CGPA. Students who used the Internet for academic purposes show good achievement of CGPA. Furthermore, maximum Internet usage has minimized students' social activities, which can lead to poor physical health of students.
