The truth is considered bad news in most of today's society because people always try to silence it and keep it repressed. Avoidance of the truth has many modern equivalents, one of which is our denial that our methods of producing and using energy are making our planets ill. We slip and slide around this idea. Deep down, we whisper to ourselves, “if global warming is a real threat to future generations, what does that make me?” Most of the time, people believe bad news about others without bothering to question whether it is authentic or false. They believe there is hook, line and sinker. People like to see others worse off than themselves. I think it's best to equate truth with good things. For example, if someone criticizes us and tells us our flaws even if it hurts us, we should learn to accept it and work on it because it will make us a better person because no one is.
