They perform domestic tasks similar to black women of the early 1900s, but their “work” is centered around caring for their families, which is a huge difference from black women of the past. Black women who entered the workforce as domestic servants had a dual role; they had to take care of their employer's children and home only to then leave and perform the same types of tasks for their own families. But Mocha Moms don't have to take care of someone else's children because they can devote most of their time to their children.
