Over the past decade the Afghan government has faced a number of issues that have caused problems for the country, problems such as illegal drug trafficking, terrorism and violence. But nowadays they are fighting a problem that has long existed among people and which has recently taken on a completely new aspect. Ethnic conflict is the destructive factor that has caused problems between people for generations, often leading to clashes, outbreak of violence and rancor between different ethnic groups. Trade and imports were one of the factors free from ethnic and racial conflict until the fuel trade became increasingly profitable and important. In the past, most fuel was imported from Iran, but eventually, with the trade embargo imposed on Iran, fuel trade shifted from Iran to Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, the country's two main fuel suppliers. After the start of import from these two countries, the price of fuel was expected to stabilize because more fuel was imported than before and the fuel shortage problem had been solved in many places; but unlike people's expectations the price increased further.
