Organizational Behavior Terminology and Concepts There are many important factors that are involved in and contribute to the survival and success of organizations. Organizational behavior, culture, diversity, communication, business ethics and change management are some of the essential key concepts that I list and explain below with some examples from past experiences. Organizational Behavior Study the psychological and sociological behaviors of individuals and groups of individuals in Organizations are a continuous learning process that constantly changes due to internal and external influences in relationships, ethics, culture and beliefs. Organizations depend on workers to function and survive, and workers must be satisfied with their jobs in order to perform well and accelerate. One example of behavior I observed in an organization I worked for was how quickly a poor worker transformed into a hard worker after a brief meeting with management. Management looked at the situation, assessed what was happening, and the problem was corrected. Managers are responsible for the behaviors and actions of their subordinates and, based on their observations and evaluations, are able to change and correct the situation when necessary. Organizational Culture Organizational culture is what a company stands for, including values, norms, ethics, and expectations from these beliefs. It is also the way in which an organization has grown since its inception, in a sense, and has been shaped by its past history with the influences and interactions of the people and their attitudes that have worked within it over the years of existence. According to John Mautner (June 2006), “Having a high-performance culture is critical.” (p. 19) Furthermore, without having a strong culture… mid-paper… with changes to achieve the organization's desired end goals. An example of this is when my organization decided to go global and open an office in China. Many changes had to be implemented to ensure this happened, impacting everyone in the organization. Change management is also affected by the ever-changing environment and for organizations to succeed, monitoring and changing to adapt and stay competitive is an essential practice. Conclusion In conclusion, organizations use all of these key concepts combined together every day to function. and survive and achieve your goals of success. References Mautner, J. (2006, June).
