Billie Holiday was an African American and was born on April 7, 1915 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He had no formal musical education when he took to the club platform stage to sing. She had an amazing voice and several producers appreciated her talent and promoted her to become a recognized jazz singer. Her addiction to drugs and alcohol eventually damaged her liver and heart. She was found guilty in court when police found possession of an illegal substance in her New York City apartment. He died in a hospital near the Upper East Side due to liver failure. Billie Holiday was the biological daughter of Sadie Fagan and Clarence Holiday. Sadie was thirteen when she had Holiday. At the same time, Clarence was an irresponsible father who didn't care about his daughter Billie. From her earliest years, Holiday grew up in a broken home. In other words, Holiday had no provider to support her throughout her childhood, and Sadie, who struggled financially as a teen mom, often neglected time to care for Holiday. Therefore, the love of both parents was missing during Holiday's childhood. Sadie, for example, worked as a waitress on the passenger railroad. Holiday's aunt took care of her most of the time. .Holiday often ran away from school. As a result, she was sent to the House of the Good Shepherd for nine months, from March 19, 1925 to October 3, 1925. As a young girl, Holiday was forced to drop out of school at the age of eleven without receiving much education early in her childhood . Holiday's mom found out that her neighbor named Wilbur Rich was raping her daughter Holiday. The court decided to send Holiday to the House of the Good Shepherd... middle of paper... end of paper. In my opinion, money allows her to rise in social status from prostitute to famous singer. On the other hand, I think money also stimulates his motivation or curiosity to become a drug addict. Overall, I think Billie Holiday is a very talented person. I have learned that his opportunities for success come from his preparation by practicing his voice and singing. It is clear that someone who tries to improve their life has a better chance of success in life than someone who doesn't try, they would simply get something in return. The lesson is that those who don't try would simply get something in return.
