Kwan crashed into Tim at the top of the stairs. Kwan was pale and his breathing was rapid. Kwan kept peering over his shoulder. Tim spoke, "Did you find them?" "No. So, let's go," Kwan declared as he began to climb the stairs. "Guys, can I talk to you for a moment," Giselle said determinedly. Giselle's profile became visible from the shadows of the corridor. Tim noticed that Giselle's eyeliner was smudged. Giselle never looked out of place. Did he cry? Where was Daniel? Had Daniel infuriated Giselle? “I'm bored here, so Tim and I are going down,” Kwan said. Tim was surprised by Kwan's assertiveness. Without warning, the three heard an argument below them. They recognized that the voices of Ms. Loren and Coach Russell overlapped. The three began to descend until they saw Cara and Bryan with the others grouped behind the chaperones. It was a vehement exchange. Giselle observed two men blocking the group's exit from the building while holding rifles. There was Mrs. Loren, who in her matronly manner adjusted her glasses, while Coach Russell tried to resolve the situation. They continue. Giselle reaches the last step, asks: "What's the problem?" Loren says, "These gentlemen here ask us to pay an entrance fee before we can leave the Palace. I think they are bandits." "Someone tell me how much they want?" Bryan asked. Cara shook her head, then realized that her diamond necklace was paying her unwanted attention. Worryingly, Cara slipped the crucifix under her blouse, under her travel card. Giselle spoke firmly, "I'm sure these men will let us go. We are here on a goodwill mission from America. Senator Kruger also signed our papers." Giselle headed for the exit only to be blocked by two bandits. Outside, Ahmad was b... in the middle of a sheet of paper... and said to the boy in Arabic: "I pity you." Ahmad was amazed at how much control Ethan had over the situation. Ahmad remained behind the disgraced delegation as it left the palace gardens. Giselle hugged her husband, then marched forward observing the students. Minister Mike approached Ethan along the path. "We can't thank you enough. You need to stay with us tonight. I have a proposal," Minister Mike told Ethan. Ethan smiled and spoke to Mike, "I appreciate it. Honestly, Dude, this has been too much excitement for me. I'll spend the night and go out tomorrow." Ethan headed down the student-crowded path; he could hear the anxious chatter. Minister Mike waited for Ahmad as he closed the group. Ahmad smiled mildly as Minister Mike put his arm around Ahmad's shoulders. Minister Mike spoke to Ahmad: "Son, we need to talk."
