Topic > New York's Diverse Population - 645

New York City, the city that never sleeps is the largest city in the world. Its ethnically diverse population is made up of immigrants from all over the world. People come here looking for a better job, education and life. Today New York is all this and more, thanks to the discovery of law, order and technology. Everything about New York is great: it's a rapidly developing society. A few years ago, New York was nothing like what it is today. It was a discovery in a development process. During the development process, the city had to tolerate several types of unstable situations, unknown to many Americans. Returning to the history of New York, one is amazed by how this fascinating city looked a few years ago. Immigrants, who were unskilled workers and probably didn't speak English, built the city we live in today. They worked for minimum wage and lived in terrible conditions. Throughout history, immigrants have entered New York in search of a better life for themselves and their families. During the late 1800s immigrants from Europe entered the United States through the Statue of Liberty. The Statue of Liberty symbolizes freedom and the promise of a better life. The Statue of Liberty welcomed all the immigrants who came to her to fully realize their dreams and make her their home. During the mid-1800s the Irish emerged in New York. They were the new immigrants. The ship they sailed on to the Liberty State was called Black Death. It was called the Black Death because many people died on the ship before reaching their destination, the Statue of Liberty. The distance from Ireland to New York was very long and the environment on the ship was not clean, which caused people to get sick. Also, due to the lack of... half paper......g on the streets. The streets of New York were not as clean as they are today. Most of New York was farmland. People had chickens, cows and goats in the back yard. Animals provided people with food such as milk, eggs, etc. Today, most New Yorkers have dogs, cats, or fish as pets. For all our necessary needs we go shopping and do not raise animals in our backyard for food. In conclusion, New York today is far advanced compared to New York in 1800. Immigrants today do not work in lower-paying jobs. Some of them are very financially secure and speak English. People also read newspapers, but not much compared to the mid-1800s. Today, the Internet has replaced newspapers, where people can search for all kinds of news without flipping pages. Today pigs don't walk down the street, instead we see New Yorkers walking their dogs.
