I. Executive SummaryGrief Counseling Center (GCC) is a non-profit organization established to provide counseling services to individuals grieving the loss of a family member. Services will be provided at a nominal fee. The founder of GCC not only believes in the need for this service, but is also willing to dedicate time and money to help those suffering from pain. The Grief Counseling Center provides mental health services to a diverse clientele. The clientele ranges from young children to senior citizens and includes various cultures and nationalities. Professionally trained therapists, facilitators and volunteers, who have a passion for helping others, will serve at the GCC. Market research shows that although there are many counseling centers in and around Los Angeles, most are too expensive or do not specialize in grief counseling. This creates the need for an organization like the Grief Counseling Center. Initial funding for the Grief Counseling Center will come from its founder and early fundraising efforts. Funding for the Pain Counseling Center will be maintained by charging nominal fees and supplemented by fundraising activities. There are also plans to raise funds in the future by applying for government grants.II. Use of data: The center will use data to monitor the centre's performance, with the expectation of being self-sustaining in the long term. If quantitative goals for monthly customer visits are not achieved, the Board of Directors and the Executive Director will ascertain the reasons for the shortfall. Corrective actions can then be taken to meet current and future expectations. The data will also be used to evaluate the centre's future prospects, with the aim of expanding services into other areas by the end of year 3.Appendix A: Pro forma income statementAppendix B: Pro forma balance sheetAppendix C: Sales forecastSource Measurement of Programmatic success: Tips for nonprofits. http://www.cof.org/files/Documents/Governing_Boards/Board%20Tools/boardtips.pdf.
