Since its inception art has played an important role in how people were able to express themselves. The early 20th century gave birth to new and exciting art forms. These were the kinds of writings, paintings and documentaries that no one had ever seen before. From Expressionism to Dadaism the types of work ranged across all of the artist's mediums. Around the 1920s a new wave of art would soon be seen across the world. This art form introduced psychology to a new way of looking at the conscious and subconscious mind. From the beginning Dadaism and Surrealism showed real signs of the influence of psychology. Each uses new ideas from the conscious and unconscious world in every art form. Would these ideas have come together and formed a new revolution in art and science like that which occurred in the early 1920s?' As the world opens a new door into the 20th century, the art world is taken by storm. The outbreak of the First World War did not stop the creativity of the artists of the new century.
